Lead Game Designer F/M
This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of most exciting game studios, using leading technology to create new genre-defining games, within our collaborative Action RPG team.
What is the job about?
As a key member of the design team you will take ownership of the design of the game. Focusing mostly on game design, you’ll also lead other designers working on combat, level and audio, working closely with all other disciplines to implement them to the highest standard. You will mentor and help teammates, provide reviews on design work, and you will act as a champion of quality.
That is great but what does it mean for the day to day?
· Lead, document and share with other departments the design direction
· Provide clear and consistent direction to the design teams in line with the creative vision.
· Partner with Art and Technical to solve problems and enable the Design team to do their best work.
· Oversee the work of design team members and mentor designers
· Actively participate in recruitment to build and grow the game design team.
· Design features aligned with the creative direction (3C, game systems, combat design, enemy designs, AI behaviors, etc.).
· Create a work environment which allows for open dialogue and encourages new creative ideas.
Requirements
What are we looking for?
· 10+ years’ experience in game development.
· Excellent understanding of systemic gameplay
· Strong project and risk management experience
